When looking at a great artist’s work, nothing pleases me more than to look at his or her sketches. Be they sketches that went on to inspire famed creativity, or sketches with slashes running through them in a rage of rejection, these preliminary thoughts often tell me more about the artist than the finished masterpiece.

Alternatively, nothing engages me more than an artist who can speak about his or her work. Need it be eloquent? No. Need they tell the audience what to think and feel when viewing their work? Certainly not! What captures me is an artist’s ability to look at his or her work as a whole and offer additional insight into its creation or purpose.

If you are interested in my work, then first of all, thank you! Second, I encourage you to visit my artist journal (or blog) Arts into Motion, where I share my own insights on work past, present, and upcoming.

My entries may seem scattered—ranging from sketches of new artistic works to moments that give me pause—but with each new entry comes reflection, and with each reflection (be it publicly written or privately contemplated) comes inevitable inspiration.

Please enjoy flipping through my online journal, and should you feel the urge, join the creative conversation by leaving insights of your own!
